Trinity Day School teachers are the heart and soul of our school. They are committed to meeting the needs of Trinity families, children and the community. They have extensive knowledge of early childhood curriculum and developmentally appropriate practice. Each teacher is trained and certified in CPR, First Aid, and the Administration of Medication. Additionally, staff attends professional development trainings yearly.
Mrs. Macey has been at Trinity since 1995. She began as an assistant in the 3s and 4s, and has been the lead teacher for 2s, 3s, and 4s before becoming director. All three of her children attended Trinity Day School. Mrs. Macey lives in Newtown, and enjoys gardening and relaxing with her family.
Mrs. LaPak was born in Newtown. She has raised four children here, two of them are married. Mrs. LaPak has a long history of working with children. She worked in a home daycare for eight years before coming to TDS, and has been a teacher at our school for over 18 years. Mrs. LaPak enjoys gardening, working at the barn, and spending time with her family.
Mrs. Thoesen came to Trinity as a parent, and then became a teacher in our program. All three of her children are TDS graduates. She loves dogs and drinks lots of coffee! When she is not working with children, Mrs. Thoesen enjoys reading and spending time with her family.
Mrs. Smith has been a teacher at Trinity since 1998, beginning as a teacher assistant then eventually becoming a lead teacher. She has lived in Newtown for over 30 years with her husband Tom. They have raised four children here, including identical twins. All four children attended Newtown schools through 12th grade before graduating and going off to college. Mrs. Smith enjoys hiking and visiting Cape Cod with her family.
Mrs. Armitage began her relationship with Trinity as a parent. Both of her daughters attended Trinity. She was also a member of the TDS Board before becoming a teacher here. She lives in Newtown, where she enjoys spending time with her family.
Mrs. Harrison has been at Trinity since 2010. She has taught in both the 2s and 3s programs, and is currently the science teacher. Mrs. Harrison lives in Newtown with her husband Tom and their four children: Matthew, Lauren, Daniel, and Benjamin.
Mrs. Russo has been at Trinity since 2010, and has been an Early Childhood Educator for over 20 years. She lives in Newtown with her husband, two daughters, and cat Roxy. Mrs. Russo enjoys going to the beach and watching her daughters dance on stage.
Mrs. Hughes began teaching at Trinity in 2009. Her daughter attended TDS and is now in high school. Mrs. Hughes is an artist who loves being creative with kids of all ages.
