Trinity Day School teachers are the heart and soul of our school. They are committed to meeting the needs of Trinity families, children and the community. They have extensive knowledge of early childhood curriculum and developmentally appropriate practice. Each teacher is trained and certified in CPR, First Aid, and the Administration of Medication. Additionally, staff attends a variety of professional development trainings yearly.
Mrs. Macey has been at Trinity since 1995. She began as an assistant in the 3s and 4s, and was a lead teacher for 2s, 3s, and 4s as well as the science teacher before becoming director. All three of her children attended Trinity Day School. Mrs. Macey lives in Newtown and enjoys gardening, going to the beach and relaxing with her family.
Mrs. Hughes began teaching at Trinity in 2009. Her daughter attended TDS and has now graduated from college. Mrs. Hughes is an artist who loves being creative with kids of all ages.
Mrs. Kwap has worked at TDS since 2023. She has also been a TDS parent – all three of her children are TDS alumni! Mrs. Kwap lives in Newtown with her family.
Mrs. LaPak was born in Newtown. She has raised four children here, three of them are married. Mrs. LaPak has a long history of working with children. She worked in a home daycare for eight years before coming to TDS, and has been a teacher at our school since 2002. Mrs. LaPak enjoys gardening, working at the barn, and spending time with her family.
Mrs. McGee began working at TDS in 2021. She has been a TDS Board member as well as a TDS parent. All three of her boys graduated from TDS! Mrs. McGee lives in Newtown with her family.
Mrs. Patrick started teaching at Trinity in 2023. She has been a preschool teacher since 2010. Mrs. Patrick is also a former TDS parent. She lives in Newtown with her family.
Mrs. Russo has been teaching at Trinity since 2010, and has been an Early Childhood Educator for over 30 years. She lives in Newtown with her husband and two daughters. Mrs. Russo enjoys going to the beach and spending time with her family.
Mrs. Thoesen came to Trinity as a parent, and then became a teacher in our program in 2016. All three of her children are TDS graduates. She loves dogs and drinks lots of coffee! When she is not working with children, Mrs. Thoesen enjoys reading and spending time with her family.
Mrs. Wilhelmy came to TDS as a classroom floater after her children graduated from our program. She transitioned into a lead teaching position in 2025. Mrs. Wilhelmy lives in Newtown with her family.
